Licensed Clinical Therapist
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist to join our team. Our office is an integrated clinic where we meet the needs of individuals with primary care, mental health, and therapy under one roof. The candidate will be working alongside other Therapists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and Family Nurse Practitioners to provide this holistic approach. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, and couples, focusing on various mental health issues, and behavioral challenges. This role requires a strong understanding of clinical counseling practices and the ability to create a supportive environment for clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual counseling sessions to address clients’ mental health needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, ensuring compliance with coding standards.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
- Provide grief counseling and support for individuals coping with loss.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behavioral changes.
- Address gender issues through sensitive and informed counseling practices.
- Work collaboratively with individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering their growth and independence.
- Engage in behavior management strategies to assist clients in achieving their therapeutic goals.
- Keep abreast of best practices in clinical counseling and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a Therapist or Counselor in the state of Virginia.
- Experience with medical records management and coding is preferred.
- Strong background in grief counseling, individual counseling, and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles is an asset.
- Experience working with individuals facing gender issues and those with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions.
